Patent Ensures Next Gen Lightning At Apple Stores

Apple got its patent approved for lighting the Apple Stores

Apple Inc. has been successful in securing a patent that has been granted by the US Patent and Trademark Office regarding a new lighting system for ceiling which will soon be deployed at all next generation Apple Stores all over the globe. The new lighting mechanism being deployed will make use of linear light troughs along with lighted ceiling panels that will be wall to wall providing a new way of illuminating the Apple Stores globally.

The new mechanism will be governed via the secured Apple United State Patent that has a number 9,217,247. This will be used in the upcoming international builds like the campus outlet of the tech behemoth in Cupertino along with the new store of the company inaugurated in Brussels.

A giant lighting apparatus that is diffused will be used as the entire ceiling so now banks of light and different sources will not be used. Thin inverted troughs are being used to space out and will extend throughout the stores. The panels on the ceiling can be lit or kept dark as required. Different sources of light as well as LEDs are likely to be installed inside the illuminated panel. This sources of light are now streamline towards a reflective back, ground or through a plastic diffuser.

The troughs being installed have a LED subsystem that will be sued to project the lights in a horizontal manner towards the centerline of the trough. The projection of the light will be down that will make the trough serve as lighters. Inside the troughs there will be a T- bar with certain embodiments that will have air ducts preinstalled. The electrical systems like the fire suspending systems, alarm system, speakers and cameras inside will be hidden by the ceiling panels. Apple Insider has highlighted that the company has been granted permission to make an iBeacon hardware that will be installed inside the ceiling. The patent however does not ta;lk about this system.

Jonny Ive, who is the Chief Design Officer along with Apple’s Senior Vice President of online and retail stores, Ms. Angeka Ahrendts has come up with new designs that will be implemented at Apple Stores. Ms. Ahrendts wants to offer all its customers a top notch unique experience once they make their way to a company’s store. The patent was filed by the company back in February 2014. The company has finally succeeded in achieving its and will now modify its stores to offer a unique experience.
